Things to do in Side

5 hours by road), built on a small peninsula wrapped around an ancient harbour and the seafront Temple of Apollo.

What sets it apart from a site like Aspendos is that the ruins - agora, theatre, city walls - sit inside the same few streets as the beach bars, hotels and harbour restaurants, so sightseeing and swimming happen in the same short walk rather than as separate trips.

The theatre alone is a paid, ticketed site; much of the rest of the old town is wandered freely. For waterfalls, the Green Canyon and other nature excursions, the Manavgat side of this area is the better base - covered separately from Side's old-town core.
