Things to do in Saklıkent Canyon
Saklıkent is a deep limestone gorge roughly 50 km from Fethiye, walked along wooden boardwalks before the canyon narrows into a wade through fast, ankle-to-knee-deep water.
The water comes straight off Taurus mountain snowmelt and stays genuinely cold even in the August heat, closer to 10-12C than a refreshing dip, so it's worth knowing that before planning on swimming rather than just paddling.
Entry is a few euros, and most visitors spend 1-2 hours at the boardwalk and canyon mouth rather than pushing the full wade, which needs proper water shoes. It's a similar canyon-and-cold-water setup to Göynük near Kemer, just further along the coast and larger in scale.
