Things to do in Kemer

Kemer is a resort town roughly 40km south-west of Antalya, reached in about 45 minutes to an hour by car or coach depending on traffic on the coast road. It has a marina, a landscaped seafront promenade and pebble beaches, but no major ruin or landmark of its own — treat it as a base rather than a destination.

Its real value is location: it sits closest to the region's headline sites, including the Tahtalı cable car (rising to around 2,365m), the ruined harbour city of Phaselis, the ancient site and beach village of Olympos, and the naturally burning Chimaera flames at Yanartaş, most of which are a 15-45 minute drive away.

Expect summer air temperatures in the low-to-high 30s°C and a sea around 25-28°C, making late-afternoon or evening trips to the Chimaera more comfortable than a midday visit.
