Things to do in Phaselis

Phaselis is a Lycian-Roman harbour city about 15km south of Kemer, roughly 50-55 minutes by car or a longer local bus ride from Antalya airport. The ruins sit across three successive pine-backed bays, which is the point: bring a swimsuit, not just a camera.

Entry is paid and the site opens early, typically from around 8am, before the day's heat and tour groups build up. Ruins line the paths between the bays, but the real appeal is walking from a Roman aqueduct straight into the sea. Treat it as a half-day beach outing with some archaeology attached, not a dedicated heritage visit like Termessos.

Do not confuse Phaselis with Olympos, a separate ancient site further south with its own village, Çıralı.
