Things to do in Kaleiçi Old Town

Kaleiçi is Antalya's walled old town, a compact grid of Ottoman-era lanes wedged between the city centre and the historic harbour. It is a pedestrian district, not a ruin: a few hours on foot cover the main streets, the 2nd-century Hadrian's Gate, and the 13th-century fluted minaret (Yivli Minare) that marks its centre.

Expect uneven cobbles, restored wooden houses turned into guesthouses and cafes, and market stalls selling carpets and lokum. The harbour at the foot of the old town is also where coastal boat trips depart, though that's a separate booking, not part of a walk through Kaleiçi itself.

Evenings are cooler and less crowded than midday in the July-August heat, when the alleys offer more shade than the open seafront nearby.
